Located in downtown Ayer, MA, [RE] Architect will design and build a fully functional pop up space on a 2,900 sq ft vacant lot. The site sits in proximity to many local restaurants, the Ayer commuter rail station, and the Nashoba Rail Trail.

To make use of the space for summer and fall of 2022, we propose to bring a shipping container to the site for storage and as a canvas for local artwork. Also, we want to provide picnic tables, tabletops, lawn games, and two portajohns.

We hope to partner with local (within walking distance) restaurants and provide online ordering platforms, delivery, and an outdoor eatery. We would also like to host events with self contained food and beer vendors.

For the summer of 2023, we’d like to scale up the operation at the site into a fully functional restaurant within the shipping container. We would renovate the shipping container to comply with all board of health and building department bylaws. Inside, we would provide unitized kiosks that local vendors could rent and customize to showcase them in a fun, bite-sized gathering space. We would still provide tables and seating for guests as well as classic lawn games.
